Description
The Caribbean Sugar Company incorporated in 1920 primarily by Boston capitalists as a Cuban corporate owned and operated the central Macareño (built in 1921) in the Camagüey province, Cuba along with cane land. The company was reorganized in the late 20s early thirties and struggled through the thirties. From 1942 it was able to pay interest on its debt and begin to make repayment contributions - which came to an end with the Cuban revolution. In the mid to late 1950s it sold some of its assets to the Compañia Azucarera Baragua. The milll was dismantled after the Cuban revolution.

Typical design for the period. Vignette of a harvesting scene with a mill in the background. Stamped “Specimen”, 00000-numbered.
