Description

The Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij set up in 1824 was orginally a monoploy regarding the sugar cultivation system in Java. It then became one of the six major financing companies on the island. At the same time it also expanded its international banking operations and in 1964 formed part of the Algemene Bank Nederland - which was eventually would be part of ABN-Amro - which still exists today.

Whilst no issue date is given the de Bussy archive number is consistent with 1937 as issue date.
