Description

Important company in Cuba. Incorporated 3.8.1915 in Delaware as part of the empire of the Atkins family of Boston. It constructed, acquired and controlled sugar mills in several Cuban provinces and in 1925 was in control of 9 sugar mills. In 1930 the company - by then the fourth largest producer in Cuba was put in receivership. The successor company Punta Alegre Sugar Corporation moved into textiles after being expropriated in Cuba.
