Description
The Sugar Planters' Corporation set up in 1917 aimed to provide financing to Cuban and Latin American sugar planters for the production of cane and to import raw sugar into the US. Amongst its directors were representatives of US institutions such as JP Morgan or the United Fruit Company and Cuban politicians. In 1922 it was dissolved - this would have been a difficult time given its purpose.
Quite typical certificate with a large vignette of a modern mill with train. Stamped “Specimen”, punchholes. The certificate most likely dates from 1917.
