Description

The Utah-Idaho Sugar Company was the result of the 1907 merger of three companies active in the states of Utah and Idaho in the early 1900s. The company in Utah had been founded by Mormons and was heavily supported by their organization. In 1902 the American Sugar Refining Company took a 50% stake and also proceeded to take 50% stakes in newly built factories in Idaho that would eventually become part of the Utah-Idaho sugar company. By 1908 the company operated 5 sugar factories making it one of the largest beet sugar companies in the US. Longstanding successful company which however eventually moved out of the sugar business finally exiting in the late 1970s.

Fairly typical design for this 10 year first mortgage bond. Allegorical figures with attributes of industry and agriculture pour oil onto a flame over a map of the United States. Stamped Specimen, punchholes.
