Description

The Vertientes-Camaguey Sugar Company was incorporated in Delaware in 1937 to accomodate the reorganization of the Camaguey Sugar Co. and the Vertientes Sugar Co. It owned the two mills and other properties probably all in Camagüey province.  No later than 1948 there was also a Cuban entity (Compania Azucarera Vertientes-Camagüey de Cuba) - probably this was the operating company for the assets with the US entity as the holding company. After the Cuban revolution its Cuban properties were nationalized and in February 1961 the New York Stock Exchange decided to suspend trading in the stocks of the company.

Specimen. Typical design for the period. Vignette with allegorical figures (the same as used in the American Sugar Company in the 1960s) - so I am assuming the certificates post-date WWII. Stamped “Specimen”, punchholes.
